“Amazing! I’m one of those moms who researches a big toy for months before I purchase. I became that way after I bought a few toys and after I received I wasn’t happy.

“We bought this play kitchen for our daughter (21 months) after looking at reviews for several different kitchens. We ultimately selected this one because of its compact size and shape that fits neatly into a corner, the neutral color scheme, and the variety of cool features that are packed into a small space (refrigerator, oven, stove top, sink, microwave, coffee maker, cupboard, plate rack, phone, towel bar, working dials). Assembly was simple and took us about 20 minutes on Christmas Eve. When we assembled it we decided not to put on the little 3.5-4″ high feet that are included because she is still short and the height it came is perfect. The textures in the plastic are very detailed and the unit seems to be of a good quality. The kitchen is a little modern and stylish and she loves to pretend she is making eggs on the stovetop and washing dishes in the little sink. The stickers are high quality and very easy to apply. The only real drawback of this product is a minimal amount of storage space for plates, pots, pans, play food, etc. You can store things in the fridge, stove, microwave, and little cupboard, but I will likely get a small storage cabinet of some kind to hold these items for her.

“I’ve had this vintage play kitchen for a year a a half. My kids love it and it has held up well. The sink bowl has two clips that hold it down. My toddler was able to pull on the bowl hard enough to break one of the clips off one time, but it still stays down fine enough. The knobs and doors still work great.
It is a pretty small toy kitchen set, which I like, but some others have commented that they feel like it affects the longevity of the toy, but I think it’s cute being so small.
My one complaint is that set up took forever and was very confusing. The instructions were terrible and did not accurately reflect what the pieces actually looked like and where holes actually were. I constantly had to look ahead to see how a piece was going to be used several steps down the line to figure out where to screw it in or what orientation it should be in. “Final result: worth it. The toy kitchen is bright and taller than my 36” tall two-year-old daughter. It took me about 3.5 hours to build, but I did it myself and with plenty of interruptions from my toddler. My suggestion is to lay out all of the pieces first with the numbers clearly visible. I also used a power drill and the wrench that came with the set.
From reading other reviews, I knew the screws were not going to be labeled very well and I would have to guess where to use the white ones versus the pink ones versus silver. I read ahead to figure this out and labeled it accordingly on the pages uploaded here in my review. I had one dowel leftover in the end. I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss anything and the kitchen is still standing, so we’re all good!
There’s a certain order that things should be done on certain pieces. I wrote down notes on this to save you time should you buy this kitchen. Lastly, if you’re using a power drill, be careful with the stove top and clock as drilling too hard will break through the plastic. Just be careful in general with the drill, too much force will break the boards.
The kitchen set toy did not come with all of the food accessories in my picture. I bought the KidKraft Tasty Treats Play Food Set (115 Pieces) on Amazon. And while it’s cool that there’s 115 pieces; there’s 115 pieces that end up on the floor. In hindsight, I probably should have bought a smaller set, like 20 pieces or so. “So realistic! This kitchen set is so adorable. This would have been my everything as a little girl. The entire time my husband was putting it together he kept marveling at its ‘luxuriousness’, he was impressed with all the details and up to date styling. Set up was under an hour, it wasn’t so bad really. We did break the microwave turn table knob..seems like this piece is a common issue with the assembly, you only get one shot to get the knob on.
I took the advice of another reviewer and added a motion sensor light under the shelf and inside the refrigerator and used a tension rod to hang a curtain over the open space below the sink to hide clutter. That was my one pause in this set is that it didn’t have the extra door under the sink for the ‘dishwasher’ however the set up was so easy, it went together simply and the reviews on a similar set regarding the hours of assembly time and parts and pieces just sounded like such a nightmare. We are very happy with this play kitchen. My little one and I have the best time playing “kitchen” together. “This is an awesome play kitchen. My husband and I have checked out so many kitchen set toys and decided to get this one for our son. We all love this play kitchen. There are 2 frying pans, 2 pots and one kettle that all work (making sizzling or bubbling sounds appropriately) on the stove top. The bubbling sound actually gets faster and faster which is a nice touch. The grill is fantastic and has 2 knobs and a button that make appropriate sounds while lighting up. It also comes with LOTS of accessories including play food, 5 spice bottles, 2 plates, 2 cups, 2 forks, knives and spoons, 1 colander, 1 ladle, 1 spatula, 1 serving spoon, and 1 pasta serving spoon.
While this toy kitchen is fantastic, for the price of around $200, I would also have liked working buttons on the microwave, refrigerator, and oven. The phone is so quiet that you have to put it up to your ear to hear the buttons working. My husband and I added lights to the kitchen to make it even more realistic. We may even cut out the grill window and put clear plastic there instead so that you can see into the grill as its lighting up. I believe this kitchen has lots and lots of storage but I saw that at least one reviewer didn’t think so. With that said, the plates don’t fit inside the cabinets.

Most of the kitchen is particle board. Backsplash & back panels are made of that thick cardboard stuff most adult furniture comes with nowadays. I think the quality is so great for the cost, it’s not plastic but it’s also not a clunky bright blue red and yellow colored kitchen in the middle of your living room, and it’s also not all “real wood” and won’t cost you $600. Took 2 people to set up, about 1hr. One person mostly for helping hold parts in place. Instructions don’t have words but pretty self explanatory once you understand what the final product should look like, and understand which way the pieces should face. We did have to loosen a couple screws in order to shimmy a few pieces in the right slots – but tightened everything back up fine with no stripping problems.” – Unknown
